Year Long Course
October 2024 - September 2025
Saturdays 1pm - 3pm
Tuition is $2700 for the year; $225/month
Tai Chi Chuan is a Chinese martial art that is characterized by the practice of gentle, relaxedly slow movements and stretches, to cultivate vitality in the forms of energy and power in the body/mind. This cultivation of energy can be done for martial and self-defense purposes as well as for the healing of disease and trauma. In this course, we’ll be focusing on deepening our understanding of the Tai Chi forms and application work to develop an increased sense of inner awareness and peace.
This course continues where Year 1 - Tai Chi Basics left off. Over the course of the year, we’ll explore and practice the Yang Style Forms, investigate applications of the various forms, and Bo forms and drills to develop our energetic flow and fluidity of movement.
Students of all levels are welcome to apply, though those with at least a basic understanding of Tai Chi will likely get the most our of this course.
What you can expect in class
Each class will include 3 parts:
Warm up and Meditation:
We’ll spend time warming up and loosening our bodies, followed by standing meditation to gain deeper self awareness and to develop the internal structure and strength needed for health and wellbeing.
Form:
Over the course of the year the class will learn Chen Man Ching’s 42 posture Yang Style Short Form and Bo forms. Some weeks we’ll explore both other weeks we’ll focus in on one. As we progress, we’ll peel back the layers to deepen our experience and understanding.
Applications and Drill Play:
Students will also work with each other to help integrate new tools and methods using two person drills and practices. This will allow us the space to put the principles and methods of Tai Chi into practical application for health, overcoming life’s stresses and self-defense purposes.
Students will also receive energetic assistance during each class. This means that I work with your energy field to balance, protect and amplify your energies. This helps you flow with a higher level of energy (Qi) and also helps make this subtle field less subtle so that you can integrate the techniques and methods more effortlessly into your everyday life. It’s two hours of bonus energy work each week!

Tuition
Tuition is $2,700 for the year; you have the option to pay in monthly installments ($225 per month).
Monthly tuition payments can be made in person with cash or a check and are due on the first class of the month.
Scholarship
I don’t want money to be a major hindrance or road block to you being able to grow and deepen your Tai Chi experience.
With this in mind, I’m also offering a scholarship rate for the full course.
Scholarship tuition is $1800 for the year; you have the option to pay in monthly installments due at the first class of the month ($150 per month).
If you’re able to pay the full rate, I strongly encourage you to do so as it supports me, the growth of the studio, and the development of our Tai Chi curriculum and teaching tools in general.
If the scholarship rate is still too much of a burden to your financial life, please contact me and we can discuss further sliding scale rates and perhaps you can assist in other non-monetary ways.
